Sudan Media Forum (SMF) is a professional platform that aims to support Sudanese media professionals, both in exile and within Sudan, by providing a collaborative environment for journalistic work, safety measures, and professional growth.
Sudan Media Forum (SMF) is seeking a part time Coordinator & Finance Officer to join its team for a two year project in collaboration with Free Press Unlimited (FPU). This role ensures liaison between SMF and FPU staff (mainly Programme Coordinator and Project Officer), as well as other international donors for coordination purposes. The Coordinator & Finance Officer oversees procedures, tracks financial matters, and handles administrative (MEL) reporting. The individual will report internally to the Board of the SMF.
Responsibilities
- Manage all activities and projects the SMF has planned for a smooth implementation
- Maintain team spirit and results oriented cooperation with editors colleagues.
- Ensure respect of all contract obligations.
- Coordinate smoothly between the SMF board members, members and media stakeholders.
- Keep effective communication and coordination between SMF and FPU staff.
- Oversee and manage financial procedures.
- Track financial matters and find solutions.
- Track progress and results for reporting administration (MEAL).
- Liaise with international donors for coordination purposes.
- Report internally to the Board of SMF.
- Help keeping SMF external communication periodically updated (Site, SM).
Requirements
- Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
- Relevant degree in finance, administration, or related fields.
- Experience in financial oversight and coordination.
- Demonstrable strong reporting and administrative skills.
- Previous experience in media or non-profit organizations is a plus.
