Call on Prime Minister Schoof: Stop Israeli disinformation
In an open statement published today, Dutch organisations such as PAX, Oxfam Novib and Free Press Unlimited call on Prime Minister Schoof to take a stand against accusations from Israel.
These accusations, spread via the Jerusalem Post and taken over by some Dutch media outlets, suggest that a PAX employee would be involved in anti-Semitism and pro-Hamas activities. The organisations reject these allegations as baseless and damaging.
Violating international law
The letter criticises Israel for violating international law and calls for measures, including an arms embargo. The organisations also stress that criticism of Israeli war crimes should not be equated with anti-Semitism.
The signatories urge Schoof ‘to publicly distance himself from these accusations and enter into dialogue with the Israeli government’ to counter Israeli propaganda and spread disinformation.
